Inspired by actual events, when high school football hero and decorated policeman’s son Jimmy Keene is sentenced to 10 years in a minimum security prison, he is given the choice of a lifetime — enter a maximum-security prison for the criminally insane and befriend suspected serial killer Larry Hall, or stay where he is and serve his full sentence with no possibility of parole. Keene quickly realizes his only way out is to elicit a confession and find out where the bodies of several young girls are buried before Hall’s appeal goes through. But is this suspected killer telling the truth? Or is it just another tale from a serial liar?

Black Bird: Limited Series | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Kristen Lopez indieWire It’s a tone poem more than a plot-driven television show. It interrogated masculinity in a way that invited people in with a crime story, only to leave them with a call for deeper introspection about how we all move through the world. Rated: B+ Aug 22, 2022 Full Review Black Bird: Limited Series | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Andrew Male Times (UK) This is Egerton’s show and he is utterly convincing as a man with nothing left to save him but the art of the con. Aug 5, 2022 Full Review Black Bird: Limited Series | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Nick Schager The Daily Beast There may be more serial killer screen performances in movies and TV than there are actual serial killers, and yet Paul Walter Hauser’s turn in Black Bird is one for the ages. Jun 12, 2024 Full Review Black Bird: Limited Series | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Pramit Chatterjee Digital Mafia Talkies [Taron] Egerton and Paul Walter Hauser are the poster boys of Black Bird, and they earn the hell out of that spot. Both of them physically and psychologically transform into their respective roles and play off of each other so beautifully. Rated: 3/5 Jul 20, 2023 Full Review Black Bird: Limited Series | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Aaron Phillips But Why Tho? A Geek Community Black Bird is an enjoyable series, but in the genre of true crime stories, it underdelivers overall. Rated: 7/10 Jan 14, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

B N Nothing like a good Docu Series . Paul Walker H acting makes you believe he is the real deal . Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/27/24 Full Review Brian D 84%. 10/15/24. Cool true story about a convicted drug dealer going under cover to get a confession from a convict held in a prison for the clinically insane. They never find the girls bodies but he does tell him something that only the killer would know so he goes to prison for life. The murderer actor was very impressive. He was in the womb with his twin brother and got less oxygen. Good show but just a little slow. 3/5 rewatch Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/21/24 Full Review P C Absolutely amazing show!!!! Gripping from the opening arrest scene!!! Couldn’t stop watching Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/19/24 Full Review DEE S This movie was based off of a true life experience. The writer Jimmy Keene is very talented. I recommend everyone to watch his movie 🎬 The suspense had me wanting more. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/25/24 Full Review Jeremy N This series an absolute must see, with a stellar cast that truly takes you outside that Hollywood mindframe and into a world where each character is someone that you connect with even on the darkest types of level. Apple has done an amazing job at putting out series, but this one is definitely my favorite as it goes into detail of a man convicted of drug charges that is given the opportunity to spend time at a lockdown psychiatric prison where he must get another prisoner to confess of his murders. The deal being that if he gets him to fast, then his time behind bars is wiped clean, but if he doesn’t, then he is stuck exactly where he is. Taron Edgerton Shows a completely new side of what he is capable of doing in terms of acting. Paul Houser, who won a gold globe for his performance, and captivates you in a way that you would never think a sadistic serial killer would be able to. It was such a wise decision to make this a limited series as it was all that was needed to get the story across, To where Ray Liotta plays his part with complete love and disheartenment, with it sadly being one of his last roles. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/17/24 Full Review Ashley W The best series I can remember watching. I was on the edge of my seat, hanging on to every word until it was over. Superb acting and storytelling. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/13/24 Full Review Read all reviews
